Performance Schedule

Yup, I'm cool.

Currently at all of my venues, I will be giving away free demo CDs, so be sure to ask me for one after I perform. Now, they even come with stickers, flyers and such. ALSO, you are more than welcome to buy my full-length debut CD "I'm in My Own World," as well as the clean version (with a few different tracks) "Dream de la Dream." Right now, I'm selling them in person at the performances!! You can also buy Dream de la Dream online, as well as check out its track listing.

As of the creation of this page, I have done 120 performances (a total of 116 in 2003), taking part in shows at a total of 35 different clubs/locations. I have done 18 full-length shows, 3 showcase spots and hosted shows 2 times... but who's counting? 8-)

Latest Performance Results:

Sunday, January 25, 8:00pm -- NYC, Collective Unconscious
Faceboyz Open Mic

RESULTS: I'd heard about this for months on end, so I finally made it out. It was really cool! The place is a small theater, so there is no food or bar service.. just a lot of people sitting and watching you! I did Work/Play, immediately followed by Sad and Lonely, with very little stage banter, because I didn't want Faceboy's 8-minute egg timer to ding. I saw Brer Brian perform and got to talk to him for a bit, which was cool, since I hadn't seen him in person in over half a year or so.

I saw some of my old friends from other open mics as well. If you go to their website, you'll see some pictures of me, Lola and Chris. Word. --eocs

RESULTS: Yo, it was great fun! It was nice to relive the old glory days of waiting outside the club, busting out the cypher and chilling with all of my open mic hip hop peeps. We gon' do this, no doubt. For my joint, I debuted my brand new track "Sad and Lonely". Peeps were totally like "lol.. wtf??!" when I started singing this super happy chorus, but they definitely threw their hands up and boogied down as the song progressed. One guy said I should be on MTV, cuz they love that silly, zany stuff.. I was like, "Sure!! I'd love to do that :-)" --soce, the elemental wizard

RESULTS: I came to the show to check out these guys Sauce, dub-L and Chase Phoenix. Pretty cool stuff. At the end, the guys on stage invited everyone to come up and spit a bit, so I spit out my first verse from Fast Forward. Some people told me they were feeling it, so that was pretty cool. Some other hip hop people I had met from other open mics were there as well, so props to them.

I still did a few rawkus tracks, like Be Mine and You Know the Deal (I AM A HOMO), plus some crazy freestyles off tha top of the dome piece. One love! --socetew

RESULTS: So.. I hadn't put this on my schedule, yet I showed up ANYWAY!! Eat THAT, Jon "JB" Berger. NOR did I perform on stage with my wizard hat (eat that, times two--word). But they WERE *eaten*. Okay, then... what I meant was great job, no I mean great job, no I mean great job... *SOooooo*, I got to bust a rap during Timothy Dark's set, and that was totally awesome.. we killed it. All and all, it was Timothy Dark, me, Scotland Zeif and Broke.. four super powerful MCs. Plus we had Dave of Dave's Place on bongos and Joe Bendik on guitar, so it was tres nice. This was my first gig where I could sell my Dream de la Dream CDs with the professionally printed up inserts.. yay!

FULL-LENGTH SHOW

RESULTS: It was a great time!! I got over 10 people to show up specifically to see me!! Thank you friends, email list recipients and website watchers!! I love and kiss you all! There were a lot of other people there also, simply because it was so early in the evening, and the Sidewalk's the place to be on a friday night. I did a bunch of hot songs, a freestyle where Timothy Dark came up with random suggestions for things for me to rap about, and I even did some Irish dancing.. going back to my roots (not!). I made a lot of money from tips and CD sales, also! Go soce, go soce, go soce, go soce!! love, soce

Antihoot Open Mic

RESULTS: Wow man, nobody, and I mean NOBODY can claim that I didn't give it my all last night. When I got off stage, I was just about ready to puke. I don't know if it was from the dancing or just using such powerful vocals, but I am all about energy, Energy, N-R-G!!! yep, that's me. I performed Whistful Breeze and SD (the party version). People seemed to enjoy it, I guess. I just hope some of them come out to my show this friday.. it was very strange to be back at an open mic.. It was very fun and cool, and yet I really don't miss them so much.. hmm-- love, socetew

FULL LENGTH PERFORMANCE

RESULTS: I had a fun time! The people there were really cool, the food is awesome, and I got a huge amount of tip money!! Can't ask for much more than that :-) This was the first show I did using my own microphone and mixing board.. now, that's power. I just gotta get some speakers, and then I'll be set.. but those would be kind of heavy and hard to carry.. hrmm.. alright, hopefully I'll be back here soon. peace, eocs

Tuesday, November 4, 9:00pm -- NYC, Nightingale
Guerrilla Words--SHOWCASE SPOT!!

RESULTS: Wow, that was a blast!! Thanks to all my peeps for coming and buying me drinks.. much appreciated! Yo, I started off the set with State of Affairs, just to ease the crowd in and have them think this would be another MC, here to hit them with some more generic rap music. The track itself was hot though, because one of my peeps jumped up on stage to be my hype man, cuz he knew the words to the track.. that was definitely sweet. AND THEN... I busted into "You Know the Deal (I AM A HOMO)," the same track I did for them two months ago--the track that got me up here in the showcase in the first place. So that was very fun. The hosts got excited, and people who hadn't yet known the deal were like ",h-what?!" Then, I belted out "This is My Song," so that was fun to sing about all sorts of stuff, including my spellcasting abilities and how I am a computer programmer and stuff.. yeah.

Then, for my fourth song, I did "Same 3 Spots" about my frustration about how I never seem to go anywhere in life.. I'll just always be out here doing open mics.. forevah! But the fun part is that I express my frustration with the method of how I see hot guys but I am way too shy to make moves on them.. so that's fun for the audience as I talk about what I would have done with them, lol! And in that track, I have a great line that rhymes with "Damn, I gotta get some." Ah, you'll have to hear it to believe it :-) I thought that was it, but then they asked me to do one more song.. so of course, I had saved the best for last!! I did my track "SD"!! The last track I have currently performed at End of the Weak.. Ah.. it's disgustingly satisfying. I hate being dependent on kissing up to other people, but it's just a way of life, and that's what the song is about. The audience was awesome though!! They even went "Wott!!" during the chorus; it fit in perfectly and gave it a bit of a gangsta tone. After my set, a lot of guys came up to me and were like,"Man, even though you're music totally grossed me out, I will let you know that you are a true individual, and I really respect that." Thanks so much!! I can't tell you how much that means to me. Ah, wow, I love Guerrilla::Words so much. It just doesn't get any better than that, man. peace, soce, the elemental wizard

RESULTS: Damn, those boys are fine, they sound amazing, they are funny, and they drew a huge crowd at their show!! It was tha hotness. Afterwards, they let me be in a picture that a man from a magazine took of them (ie., us).. sounds hot to me! I enjoyed flexing on the mic. I wish I had the energy to do the whole 8 hour Sidewalk routine every week.. but I no longer do. I got to see my man Dan sing some classic tunes, so that was cool, and I learned that this one dude whose webblog I check all the time actually had checked out my website also, so that was neat. Gave out a few CDs.. put up some fliers.
